Eat & Drink Norfolk – Get a taste of the best 2018

(News Release)

SIMCOE, Ontario – The Norfolk County Agricultural Society is excited to announce that “Eat & Drink Norfolk” is back for its ninth consecutive year. Dates for this year’s event are Thursday, April 5th from 5:00 pm to 10pm, Friday, April 6th from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and again on Saturday April 7th from 1:00pm to 10:00 pm.

Continuing to ride the wave of success, “Eat & Drink Norfolk” was recently named one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals & Events for the fourth year in a row.

“We are very proud to receive this provincial designation from Festivals & Events Ontario. The success of the event is a reflection of the high level of quality of the participating local restaurants, wineries, breweries and food producers as well the community that continues to support us year after year. The dedication of our vendors, staff, volunteers and sponsor partners has resulted in an outstanding event that continues to grow in popularity!” says Special Events Manager Chantal Zorad.

“Eat & Drink Norfolk” provides an opportunity to come out to a relaxed atmosphere in the AUD at the Norfolk County Fairgrounds, to mix and mingle while sampling local products from over 30 participating vendors. Many well-known local restaurants, wineries, breweries and food producers are back again along with some new vendors who are participating for the first time.

Now in its ninth year, “Eat & Drink Norfolk” has become the premier spring event in Norfolk County. “It is a wonderful way for people to sample new local wines, beer and cider from our local wineries and craft breweries as well as food from a local restaurant or food producer that they perhaps haven’t taken the opportunity to visit yet. They can talk directly to the owners, chefs, winemaker or brewmaster to learn more about what makes each business unique.” states Zorad.

Live musical entertainment will feature Felicia McMinn and Benjamin Dakota Rogers on Thursday evening, while Felicia McMinn and With the Dudes perform Friday evening. Saturday will feature an all-day musical line up with Evan Champagne, Felicia McMinn and Grey Sky taking the stage.
A photo booth will be available during select hours. Those attending will also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite food booth, favourite wine and beer booth. The winning vendors are presented with a ribbon to display in their business all year long.

Admission to “Eat & Drink Norfolk” is $12 on Thursday and $14 Friday and Saturday. Advance tickets to this popular event are available online at norfolkcountyfair.com as well as at the Fair Office. Tasting tokens will be available at the show for just $1 each. Each sample at the show typically costs between two and four tickets. Must be 19 years of age and older to attend.

“Eat & Drink Norfolk” is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the many great food and beverage products in Norfolk County, all under one roof. It is a fundraising initiative of the Norfolk County Fair.
