Happy Canada Day, Eh! from the Toronto Zoo

WE'RE OPEN
Wednesday, July 1, 2015
As Canada's national leader in wildlife conservation we are focused on the preservation of Canadian species and what a better place to visit on Canada Day than the Toronto Zoo. Here you can see some true Canadian iconic species in our Tundra Trek and the Canada Domain exhibits.

Spend some time this Canada Day with our polar bears at their noon and 3:00pm keeper talks, our otters at their 12:30pm feeding or with our grizzly bears at their 1:00pm keeper talk,
just to name a few of the iconic animals you will see this Canada Day at the Zoo.

The Toronto Zoo is very proud to announce a new exciting and innovative exhibit called “Wild Connections.” This exhibit features the world premiere of National Geographic’s Air, Land & Sea an INDE Appshaker Augmented Reality Experience and complimented with stunning images from National Geographic photographers.  This experience is the first of its kind in Canada.
The new experience is now OPEN to the public with an admission cost of $5.00 (taxes included) per person ages 3 and older. Wild Connections is located next to the Panda Interpretive Centre in the Giant Panda Experience.

SPLASH ISLAND  - CAN'T  BEAR THE HEAT?
Cool off at Splash Island, the perfect destination for a hot summer day! With two acres of hands-on, non-stop family fun amidst waterslides, water-spouting animals, waterfalls, and tipping buckets, our splash pad is the best way to beat the summer heat. The kids will enjoy the cool mist as they explore and learn about which plants and animals live in different bodies of water in Canada.
Splash Island is a great way to relax, cool down, and have fun with the kids!

Giant Panda Experience, 11:00am
Giant Panda’s Er Shun and Da Mao invite you to Pinata's for Pandas! The Toronto Zoo is always looking for creative animal enrichment that connects guests and animals in a relatable way. Panda Piñata’s encourage foraging, which is the act of looking or searching for food. The giant pandas have been enjoying this special enrichment, made just for them by their keeping staff, since arriving at the Toronto Zoo in 2013. Whether it's for their birthdays, Halloween, Christmas or Chinese New Year, Canada's only giant panda pair enjoy the fun of getting to some of their favourite treats in some of the most creative designs.
