Kenny Rogers and full entertainment lineup for May for Seneca casinos

NIAGARA FALLS and SALAMANCA, N.Y. – A blockbuster spring entertainment lineup for Seneca Casinos just got better. Country legend Kenny Rogers is booked for an April 26 performance at Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel, and a full lineup for May is set – with high-profile acts including The Osmonds, Justin Hayward from The Moody Blues, Jimmie Vaughan, Dion, and Katey Sagal and the Forest Rangers.

Country music patriarch Kenny Rogers makes a return visit to Seneca Allegany Events Center in Salamanca on Saturday, Apr. 26 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and start at $25. The legendary singer achieved 24 No. 1 singles throughout his storied career, including songs like “The Gambler,” “Lady,” “Islands in the Stream,” “She Believes in Me” and “Through the Years.” Rogers has sold more than 120 million records worldwide and recorded more than 65 albums during his 50-plus years in the entertainment industry.

One of show business’s most famous families, The Osmonds, will deliver five days of music, fun and excitement with Merrill, Jay and Jimmy Osmond from Wednesday, May 7 through Sunday, May 11 at Seneca Allegany Events Center. Matinee performances take place at 1:30 p.m. on May 7, 8 and 11, and evening performances take place at 7 p.m. on May 9 and 10. Tickets start at $25 and are on sale now. The Osmonds have tackled most any genre throughout their nearly 50 years of shows – everything from barbershop to country to pop. Merrill is the family’s unique lead voice and bassist, Jay is famous for his talent on the drums, and Jimmy – the youngest of the family and fellow singer – produces the hit tours.

Two mid-May acts inside the intimate 440-seat Bear’s Den Showroom in Niagara Falls will offer performances that show-goers will be talking about for years to come. First up is An Evening with Justin Hayward on Thursday, May 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $70 and are on sale now. Hayward is the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist of The Moody Blues, the English progressive rock band with more than 70 million albums sold worldwide and 14 platinum and gold records. Some of the band’s hits include “Nights in White Satin,” “The Voice,” “Your Wildest Dreams” and “I Know You’re Out There Somewhere.” Hayward has carved a successful solo career as well and released his first solo album since 1996 just last year, titled, “Spirits of the Western Sky.” The album explores new genres such as country and bluegrass, and features a song (“On the Road to Love”) co-written and co-performed by Kenny Loggins.

Two days later at the Bear’s Den Showroom on Saturday, May 17 at 8 p.m., Jimmie Vaughan and the Tilt-a-Whirl Band take the stage for an evening of blues and roots music. Tickets start at $40 and go on sale Monday, Mar. 10 at noon. Jimmie, the older brother of the legendary late Stevie Ray Vaughan, formed The Fabulous Thunderbirds in the late 1970s and earned four Grammy Awards throughout his career. He has appeared as a guest on dozens of albums for notable musicians such as B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana and Don Henley.

Two weeks after a sold-out performance by Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty on May 10, the Seneca Niagara Events Center plays host to another legendary name in the music business, as Dion takes the stage on Saturday, May 24 for an 8 p.m. performance. Tickets start at $35 and are on sale now. The doo-wop singer – born Dion Francis DiMucci – is best known for a string of Top 10 hits in the early 1960s, including the classics “Runaround Sue” and “The Wanderer.” He also recorded the memorable tribute song, “Abraham, Martin and John,” in 1968, and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.

Finally, to kick off the final weekend in May, Katey Sagal and the Forest Rangers perform at Seneca Allegany Events Center on Friday, May 30 at 7 p.m. Tickets start at just $20 and go on sale Monday, Mar. 10 at noon. Sagal is a versatile television and film actress, having played the popular role of the red-haired Peg Bundy on “Married with Children” and currently starring as Gemma Teller Morrow in “Sons of Anarchy” – for which she recently earned a Golden Globe Award. She also is a critically acclaimed singer and provided backup vocals throughout her career for Bette Milder, Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John, Etta James and Tanya Tucker.

In addition to an exciting spring lineup that includes star-studded performances by entertainers such as Jay Leno, the Goo Goo Dolls and Kevin Costner and Modern West, Seneca Casinos is planning to announce an incredible summer lineup later this month. Details about an official announcement date will be forthcoming.
