Secluded island eco-adventure weekend - biking and scuba diving on Pelee Island

August 18-19, 2012, Island Scuba and Explore Pelee, Pelee Island’s eco-tourism company, are hosting the First Annual Island Biking & Scuba Diving Series on secluded Pelee Island, Ontario. This weekend event, on Lake Erie's largest island, will include an adventure tourism bike tour, introduction to SCUBA and snorkeling including scuba equipment, local catered meals, ferry transportation, camping fees, and luggage shuttle on home journey. 
 
This Island Biking & Scuba Diving Tour is a unique event that includes physical challenge and exposure to the natural environment of one of the most beautiful and ecologically sensitive islands in the Great Lakes. Guided by local ecotourism leaders Stephanie Avery de Sanchez & Anne Marie Fortner, participants are provided with a unique opportunity for hands-on learning. Experience a taste of island life with local organic catered meals, and help support emerging businesses.
 
Eco-tourism company Explore Pelee was founded in 2008 and provides island visitors with a variety of outdoor experiences including historical and natural interpretation tours via hiking, biking and auto, for both small groups and bus tours. Explore Pelee also provides environmental field trips to high school classes, trip planning, and eco-adventure weekends.
 
Island Scuba was founded in 2011 by Stephanie Avery de Sanchez due to her combined love of Pelee Island and Lake Erie.  Stephanie has been a certified scuba diver since 1999.  She became a Divemaster in 2009 and an Open Water Instructor in 2011.  Island Scuba offers:  introduction sessions to SCUBA and snorkeling, equipment rentals and sales, guided discover local diving tours and charters.  Island Scuba offers complimentary activities to Explore Pelee's land tours by inviting you to discover what lies below the surface of Lake Erie.
